As a travel blogger with a keen interest in landmarks and historic sites, it was easy to fall in love with Halepa Hotel in Chania, Crete. The hotel's proximity to the Hassan Pascha Mosque and Old Venetian Harbor made it an excellent base for exploring the rich history and architecture of the region. The Hassan Pascha Mosque, with its iconic domed architecture and intricate mosaics, provided a fascinating insight into the Islamic influence on the area.
Another standout landmark was the Venetian Harbor, which is steeped in history and lined with beautiful Venetian buildings. I spent hours strolling along the waterfront and taking in the stunning views of the Aegean Sea from the top of the Chania Venetian Lighthouse. The old Firkas Fortress and Maritime Museum of Crete were also worth a visit, and provided a fascinating insight into the island's naval history.
